San Diego is beautiful, but the National Education Association is truly wicked. Tomorrow starts the caucus meetings and general sessions with resolutions. This teachers union, which is supposed to be about the teaching profession in the workplace, has something called "The Non-Education Agenda of the NEA." There are 14 resolutions specifically geared to homosexuality, sexual orientation and gender identification. These resolutions actually begin with early childhood education; they include discrimination, diversity and tolerance training for preschool to the college level. These resolutions are ultimately acknowledged to have been written by the International GLBT Forum. Also included is the NEA-HIN (Health Information Network). In these Health Information Network resolutions are the continued teaching of sexual practices, heterosexual and homosexual under the guise of sex education, sexual freedom and disease prevention. One of the exhibits here at the NEA, actually has "condoms in a basket," with a sign over the basket titled "Condoms in a Basket" This is considered a teaching tool. The politics of gay activism and homosexual rights are encouraged to be taught to children of all ages, social studies and civics. If all the above is summed up by Bob Chase, past president of the National Education Association, "Schools cannot be neutral. When dealing with issues of human dignity and human rights. I'm not talking about tolerance; I am talking about acceptance. It's Elementary is a great resource for parents, teachers and community leaders working to teach respect and responsibility to America's children."
Today ( Tuesday) in one of the meetings I was allowed to attend, it was announced with cheers and thunderous applause that Coleman conceded his senatorial seat to Al Franken. Franken is an open atheist, has made intolerable remarks regarding Christians of all practice as stupid idiots. He is now a United States senator from Minnesota and makes for a veto-proof ultra-liberal, anti-family, pro-homosexual, pro-abortion Senate. What was disgusting about the cheers were the derogatory comments made by the acting president of the NEA regarding the Republican Party and Christians in general. He said something to the effect we now have control over all education policy, and we can do what we want in spite of somebody's religious beliefs. We don't have to listen to the stupidity of the Republican Party. Not an exact quote but close.
Tomorrow I'll be attending a few open meetings as a guest. One of them will be the Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgendered Caucus of the NEA. I am not allowed to speak. So I will have to take notes and listen closely. I am fielding questions to people to ask about tolerance and acceptance and equality for ex-gays. We will have to see how that goes.
Yesterday I met up with the founder of the Ex-Gay Educators Caucus here in San Diego and we had lunch. When we went to validate our ticket in the mall, where the restaurant was, we were confronted by a young man getting signatures to overturn Prop 8 and support gay marriage. Without hesitation, I blurted out "Prop 8 should stay. Ex-gay is okay!" The look on his face was great. He said have a nice day. I'm sure he had other things to say after the shock wore off. What we noticed was in that busy mall that no one was signing the petition. We observed for a good half-hour, he was not the only one trying to get signatures, and they must've asked 100 to a 150 people, and they got no takers.
We need your prayers and intercession for the next few days. The next four years, with the president and Congress. We are in serious danger of losing so many freedoms, rights and privileges. We continue to hear on the news that the government is going to continue to take over every aspect of our life. And if the NEA has its way, they will become the de facto parent and you will become the babysitter of your own children.
