The Face of Higher Education Today- Harvard President Drew Gilpin Faust

NEW YORK (AP) -- Historian and Harvard University president Drew Gilpin Faust has won a $50,000 prize from the New York Historical Society for "This Republic of Suffering: Death and the American Civil War."

Faust, 61, received the fourth annual American History Book Prize, the society announced Tuesday. Her book "looked at how the vast numbers of soldiers who lost their lives during the Civil War changed how Americans understood and coped with death." It was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for History.

Makow Comment: Instead of looking at the real forces behind the US Civil War, historians like Faust write books like the above. As you can see, they are bought and paid for, handsomely.
This "treason of the intellectuals" is partly why we are in serious trouble.
