I disagree a bit with TW, [below] though I am a person who takes the battery out of his mobile and only use it for emergencies. That Civilisation has been hijacked doesn't mean that we cannot have something more transparent and civilised than what we have presently got. Everything is orchestrated and not very much, on a grand scale, is the result of random chance. The longer I live, the more I see that our entire system is set up such that it benefits those who are greedy and good at gaming the system.

The whole "Twitter Wars" thing doesn't come as much of a shock to me. What's shocking is that people still play the game inside the "Matrix", if you will.

It's only a small minority of people who steer clear of social media and who put their smart phones down for more than ten minutes during their waking lives. People who willingly insert themselves into this "Matrix" of disinformation are the ones responsible for the way things are these days. They get fed their minute-by-minute propaganda and fall right into line with the expectations dictated by it. They then expect others to stay within these lines as well, and so it goes. Suddenly we end up with a society that is so sick and abnormal that no one knows what good is anymore.

Whenever I go out, I invariably see virtually everyone walking along or sitting while looking at their phones. It's like some kind of addiction. They seem to not know what to do with themselves without having that rectangular screen at the ready.

We don't have to be this way, however. The propagandists with their vested interests and agendas only have as much control over us with their disinformation as we allow them to have. Turn off the smart phones with their social media, turn off the TV, talk to one another instead of exclusively using technology to do this for you, use your heads to think for a change (rather than being told what to believe) and build a kinder world!

I guess I'm a dreamer, aren't I? I think people are too obtuse to follow such advice.
