There is an apostasy out there now that is getting worse by the day that is the cause of all this anxiety and stress.
Just read Romans 1and 2 that describes the nature and numbers of different sins and apply to the state of the today's world. St. Paul names almost every sin going on today. God's wrath might be a lot closer than we would like to think.
However, today's preachers don't warn against it like they use to. It's a part of the Word that people don't want to hear anymore. It kind of challenges their "serenity" and their image of God as a God of no wrath.
You also don't hear preachers today talk about saving souls anymore either. Maybe that's because a lot of us fell we don't need it or don't believe in it. It doesn't coincide with the New Age beliefs.
We could be in for a big surprise because God doesn't change and he also doesn't approve of the things of man that are not of God.
We are blessed today to have the true believers in Jesus Christ out there. A lot of them dont preach because their love for their neighbors and works are their testimony. I have been blessed to have known some and I fall short their mark.
This life is about salvation and not about building fat bank accounts, million dollar mansions, and all the worldly lusts. And, until we admit our sins and ask for forgiveness through Jesus Christ we'll always be searching for that worldly happiness that never seems to totally satisfy and let's us down in the end.

"Your churches will be used to teach the Jew's religion and in less than two hundred years, the whole nation will be working for divine world government. That government that they believe to be divine will be the British Empire. All religions will be permeated with Judaism without even being noticed by the masses, and they will all be under the invisible all-seeing eye of the Grand Architect of Freemasonry."

“Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect. The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. The Lord looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men. From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.” Psalm 33: 8-14
